An H-bomb says what?
Have I ever told you I love Carole O'Neill?
The Berkeley Beacon's Anthony Miller reported earlier this year: O'Neill, who is representing the faculty in negotiations for the fourth time, wrote to Liebergott that she regrets the comment she made [during a collective bargaining session for the full-time faculty union contract in April: "Heil Hitler."]. But, her letter states that the remarks were "intended to illustrate, in a rhetorical and theatrical, not literal way, the direction that the administration is heading if left unchecked." It's too bad Carole had to regret her comment. But it's so wonderful to see theatrics being taken out of context and then having to be explained. You have to understand, I love theatrics in real life. I'm all about it. Unfortunately, people who have no sense of humor take them seriously, and it gets blown out of proportion, as perhaps it did here.Labels: Originally published
